Internet sales from Textile, Clothing and Footwear stores at their highest level

£124m worth of goods from textile, clothing and footwear stores were sold per week via the internet in November 2015 (Office for National Statistics Value Seasonally Adjusted Average Weekly Sales measure).

This represents a £6m weekly increase since October 2015.  Indeed, the growth of internet sales has been large, with £43.3m having been sold weekly via the internet from these stores in December 2009, an almost three-fold increase.

As a proportion of all sales from textile, clothing and footwear firms, November 2015 was the highest proportion of internet sales.  13.5% of all sales were via this channel.  January 2014s figure was 9.4%.
